Eighties pop star and Celebrity Big Brother contestant, Pete Burns announced his engagement to boyfriend Michael Simpson, last night.

The Dead or Alive front man broke the news in a televison interview with Richard and Judy on Channel 4. The couple showed off Vivienne Westwood diamante skull design rings.

Mr Burns, who had a hit single in the 1980s with You Spin Me Round, declared how in love they were on the chat show, and confirmed they intend to have a same sex partnership.

He told the show, “We’re so happy, today we got our engagement rings, it symbolises that under all this flesh we are bones, and souls.”

“Michael has never seen me as a photo, a video or a song. He saw me as the person I am.

“As soon as I met him, I fell. I stalked him in the restaurant he worked in. Somebody gave him my phone number, he called me that night, we met in a cafe and went on from there.”

His partner added, “We just naturally connected with each other.”
