This quiz can help you find out how gay you really are with an exact percentage.

While some people identify as 100 per cent gay or 100 per cent heterosexual, for many people, the reality of their sexuality percentage lies somewhere in between.

In fact, the Kinsey Scale – aka the Heterosexual–Homosexual Rating Scale – was developed by Dr Alfred Kinsey in 1948 and is used to measure human sexuality.

Instead of assigning people to three categories – heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual – Dr Kinsey developed a seven-point scale, which ranges from 0 to 6, with the additional category of X.

Those who sit at 0 or 6 on the scale reported exclusively homosexual or exclusively heterosexual attraction. People at X reported “no socio-sexual contacts or reactions”.

Given that sexuality can sit on a sliding scale, some have described their identity in percentage terms.

In 2016, Borat star Sacha baron Cohen joke that he was “23 per cent gay”, adding: “There are times I go down to 17, times I go up to 31.

“When I was doing Borat and I had the testicles on my chin, I was at 31.”

The star’s comments prompted ‘Troublemaker’ singer and former X Factor star Olly Murs to say he was “20% gay”, generating headlines in the process.

If you want to find out your own percentage, simply take the quiz above and answer the questions given to get an exact score.

Remember, it’s all just a bit of fun: nobody knows your sexuality better than you do, or can define it for you.

After you’ve tried this one, why not give one of these a go – they claim to be able to guess your sexual orientation based on pictures or questions.
