Caitlyn Jenner denies endorsing Ted Cruz for Pres – but she is still a fan

Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner has denied endorsing Ted Cruz for US President.

Jenner on Thursday said, despite saying kind words about the Texas Senator, she did not officially endorse him.

Earlier in March, she told the Advocate in an interview that Cruz could be her choice for President. But after the publication of the article, other reports suggested she had officially endorsed Cruz.

Speaking to E! in an interview which went out on Thursday, Jenner said: “I never said that I endorsed Ted Cruz; I said I liked him.”

“He is a constitutionalist and I think we have to get our country back to something like that. Now out of all the candidates, for the LGBT community he would probably be the worst, and need the most help.”

Jenner also said she was “surprised” that Cruz had not contacted her to become his trans ambassador.

She said: “Have they contacted me? No… I was kind of surprised.”

Jenner earlier this month claimed that Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton only cares about herself, and that a Republican president would do more for trans rights.

The former Olympian, who is a staunch Republican, made the claim on her reality show I Am Cait, which has just begun its second season.

The show may come to an abrupt end, however, due to a “sharp drop” in ratings, it is now possibly facing the axe.

Cruz, by no means the worst candidate on LGBT rights, is apparently “proud” to be backed by Linda Harvey of Mission: America, who claims homosexuality is a result of child molestation and demonic possession.

We don’t think she’ll have much in common with Duck Dynasty homophobe Phil Robertson, a regular speaker at Cruz rallies, but Harvey will have plenty of other ‘friends’.

We think she will likely get on like a house on fire with Kevin Swanson, the pastor who shouted that he was “not ashamed” to call for gays to be put to death at a rally minutes before introducing Cruz and warmly embracing him.

Cruz has previously bragged about his endorsements from leading anti-LGBT groups.
