This perfect Miley Cyrus performance smashes gender boundaries (VIDEO)

Former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has treated audiences to a performance that smashes gender boundaries on the opening night of new variety show Maya & Marty.

Cyrus, who identifies as pansexual and gender-fluid, has been outspoken in her support of the LGBT community, even getting a tattoo in support equal marriage.

Sporting a black-and-white tuxedo and top hat, she sang a cover of Leonard Cohen’s ‘I’m Your Man’.

She then performed Peggy Lee’s ‘I’m A Woman’ after stripping down to a skimpy bodysuit – and was joined by her host Maya, who donned a matching suit.

Earlier this year, Cyrus called in help to oppose anti-LGBT laws – from her dad Billy Ray Cyrus.

Two bills have been filed in the state of Tennessee that would roll back the rights of transgender people – banning trans women from using female bathrooms as well as banning LGBT discrimination protections.

Last year Cyrus confirmed that she identifies as pansexual – meaning she’s attracted to people regardless of sex or gender identity – rather than bisexual.

“I’m very open about it – I’m pansexual. But I’m not in a relationship. I’m 22, I’m going on dates, but I change my style every two weeks, let alone who I’m with,” the singer said.

Cyrus launched the Happie Hippie Foundation last year, which is dedicated to empowering homeless and LGBT youth, and was brought to tears at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, where she was recognised for her work in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
