Donald Trump wants to swap the Goodyear tyres on his presidential car after company ‘banned’ MAGA hats

Donald Trump has attacked tyre manufacturer Goodyear again over its “ban” on staff wearing MAGA hats, now saying he wants to swap the tyres on his presidential state car.

On Wednesday, August 19, the US president threw a Twitter tantrum over unverified reports that the tyre company had banned MAGA hats, while supporting the LGBT+ community and and Black Lives Matter.

A Goodyear employee told WIBW that a diversity training presentation at the Topeka plant had listed Black Lives Matter and LGBT+ Pride as “acceptable” under its zero-tolerance policy, while “blue lives matter, all lives matter, MAGA attire and political affiliated slogans or material” were considered “unacceptable”.

Trump was very upset about the reported ban on MAGA attire, and even called for his Twitter followers to boycott the company.

The US president wrote on Twitter: “Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS.

“Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!)”

Donald Trump wants to “swap out” his presidential Goodyear tyres.

Although the company later clarified that “the visual in question was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate, nor was it part of a diversity training class”, it appears that Donald Trump’s crusade against Goodyear is far from over.

Ironically, despite Trump’s insistence that people not buy from Goodyear and that it was easy to “get better” tyres, his own presidential limousine, otherwise known as “The Beast”, is equipped with Goodyear Regional RHS tyres.

But, according to The Hill, he said at a White House press conference on Wednesday: “I’m not happy with Goodyear because what they’re doing is playing politics.

“And the funny thing is that the people who work for Goodyear, I can guarantee you I poll very well with all those great workers in Goodyear.

“When they say that you can’t have ‘blue lives matter’, you can’t show a blue line, you can’t wear a MAGA hat, but you can have other things that are Marxist in nature — there’s something wrong with the top of Goodyear.”

Asked if he was planning to replace the tyres on “The Beast”, Trump responded: “Yeah, I would do that. I would swap them out based on what I heard. We’ll see what happens.

“You’ll have a lot of people not wanting to buy their product anymore. They’ll buy from a competitor, made in the USA too.”
