Rosie O’Donnell is most annoying celebrity
Comedian, talk show mainstay and LGBT rights activist Rosie O’Donnell has hit back after being voted 2007’s most annoying celebrity.
The readers of Parade magazine in the US chose the 45-year-old, who took the title with 44% of the vote.
She beat off still competition from other hated celebs Heather Mills-McCartney, rightwing polemicist Ann Coulter and gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
In a videoblog on her website O’Donnell gave her reaction to the news:
“Frankly, most celebrities are annoying. So I agree, celebrities are annoying.
“The fact that I am one is annoying, and I suppose I am the most annoying, but whatever.”
She speculated that she won, “because I’m loud, and because some people don’t like me. Barbra Streisand likes me, right?”
O’Donnell was until recently host of talk show The View, which is similar in format to ITV1’s programme Loose Women.
In May she was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
