Republican Lindsey Graham smashes his phone after Donald Trump leaks number
Republican Lindsey Graham has posted a video of himself destroying his mobile phone – after Donald Trump gave out his number during a speech.
The two anti-gay Republican Presidential wannabes have been in-fighting, with Trump reading out the Senator’s personal phone number on live TV after Graham labelled him a “jackass”.
Not one to back down however, Graham has posted a video in which he takes an axe, blender, golf club and flame to his phone after being plagued with abusive calls.
Despite their supposed differences, the pair actually have very similar views on equality – with Donald Trump opposing same-sex marriage and Lindsey Graham strongly voting against LGBT rights.
Mr Graham is running on a platform of military experience – but appeared unaware that trans people were still banned from service when questioned about the issue.
Graham – who has never been married and has no children – has consistently denied rumours about his sexuality, after being branded “ambiguously gay” by a political opponent last year.
The Republican, a strong opponent of LGBT rights, has claimed he would rotate the position of First Lady between his friends and family members if he becomes President.
Responding to rumours about his sexuality on another occasion, Graham joked about whether he was having a secret affair with Ricky Martin.
He joked: “Maybe I’m having a clandestine affair with Ricky Martin. I know it’s really gonna upset a lot of gay men — I’m sure hundreds of ’em are gonna be jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge — but I ain’t available. I ain’t gay. Sorry.”
As well as opposing same-sex marriage, Graham also opposed repealing the ban on gay people in the military, and opposed LGBT-inclusive immigration reform.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has insisted he only believes in ‘traditional’ marriage – despite being married three times.
