‘The future that liberals want’ is our new favourite meme

“The future that liberals want” is the “Thanks, Obama” meme of 2017.

The hilarious joke that has been trending on Twitter originated after the account polNewsNetwork1 tweeted out an image of a drag queen and woman wearing a burqa sitting next to each other on the subway.

The right wing politics account tweeted the picture out alongside the caption “This is the future that liberals want”.

Since then, the internet has taken it’s sarcastic reigns of humour to lay into the account.

Twitter users began to tweet out outlandish pictures with the same caption, here is just some of our favourite examples of the future that liberals definitely want:

3. A lizard woman and her wife

4. Star Wars is so very gay

5. Power Rangers on the subway

6. Dogs can drive…

7. And cats can drive dogs?!
