Supernatural star Misha Collins appears to come out as bisexual in the best way

Misha Collins on the red carpet

Supernatural star Misha Collins has appeared to come out as bisexual – and you can absolutely bet his fans are going into overdrive.

During a fan convention on Saturday (23 April), the 47-year-old told a crowd of cheering and, we assume, thirsty fans about his sexual orientation.

While speaking at Creation Entertainment’s Supernatural Offical Convention in Secaucus, New Jersey, Collins asked the crowd: “How many of you would consider yourself introverts?

“How many extroverts? And how many bisexuals?”

According to video footage shared by an attendee on Twitter, pretty much everyone erupted into cheers and applause at the mention of bisexual folk.

“Where did that come from?” one convention-goer muttered as Collins smiled, laughed and looked to the side.

“I’m all three,” Collins added as he waved his arm and carried on laughing. “See, it would have been weird if I just said: ‘By a show of hands, how many bisexuals are in the audience?’

“But I’d rather do it as a questionnaire, that’s more socially acceptable.”

Collins, who played apathetic angel Castiel in the CW fantasy television series, then recounted the times when he’s sought the green room while filming, feeling too anxious around so many people.

He didn’t mention being bisexual again during the convention, but that didn’t stop Supernatural fans from going into full fangirl mode.

“I’ve probably watched this 100 times by now,” said one user, “but it still brings the stupidest smile to my face.”

Another added: “I am so damn proud of him..!!”

“The way he just sorta says it quickly, like it’s not important,” a fan wrote, “but the same way, he took deep breaths beforehand, gathering himself. @MishaCollins, I love you.”

And these fans certainly were not alone. Many Supernatural buffs reacted in almost disbelief at him coming out so casually, while others praised him for stating his truth.

Collins’ Supernatural character had long been accused by some fans of queerbaiting, given that Castiel constantly flirted with impish hunter Dean Winchester, played by Jensen Ackles.

And in the show’s final season, Castiel left fans stunned when he confessed his love for Dean, seemingly confirming he is queer.

“Whether it was official or just a little jest,” tweeted a fan, “I’m always going to love this silly, beautiful man.”
