Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah apologises for gay slur
Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah has apologised for calling a fan a “faggot” at last night’s game.
The player, whose team lost to Miami Heat in the NBA play-offs, was caught on camera saying “f**k you faggot” to a fan.
Today, the 26-year-old said: “I apologise.
“The fan said something to me that I thought was disrespectful, and I got caught up in the moment, and I said some things that I shouldn’t have said. I was frustrated and I don’t mean no disrespect to anybody. I just got caught up.”
Noah, who is the son of tennis champion Yannick Noah, may receive a heavy fine.
His outburst comes several weeks after Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was fined $100,000 for calling a referee a “faggot”.
