Kristen Stewart is ‘definitely’ still open to dating men
Kristen Stewart says she would “definitely” still date men, afterĀ a number of public romances with women.
The former Twilight star came out in 2015, when she confirmedĀ she was “not hiding” her relationship with then-girlfriendĀ Alicia Cargile.
Stewart, who is currently dating Stella Maxwell, suggested in a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live that she was exclusively interested in women and was “like, so gay”.
But in an interview with Harper’sĀ Bazaar this week, Stewart clarified that she would still date men in future.
Asked if she would date a man, she said: “Yeah, totally. Definitelyā¦ Some people aren’t like that.
“Some people know that they like grilled cheese and they’ll eat it every day for the rest of their lives. I want to try everything. If I have grilled cheese once I’m like, ‘That was cool, what’s next?’.”
She added:Ā “I’ve been deeply in love with everyone I’ve dated. Did you think I was faking it? I’ve always really embraced a duality.
“And really, truly, believed in it and never felt confused or struggling. I just didn’t like getting made fun of.”
The actressĀ explained previouslyĀ that coming out had made her happier.
She said: “When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialised, so I didnāt like it.
āWe were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, āThatās mine. Youāre making my relationship something that itās not.ā I didnāt like that.
āBut then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, āActually, to hide this provides the implication that Iām not down with it or Iām ashamed of itā, so I had to alter how I approached being in public.
āIt opened my life up and Iām so much happier.ā
Appearing on SNL earlier this year, she addressed Donald Trump’s infamous Twitter obsession with her.
She said: “A few years ago I was dating this guy called Robert, and we broke up and then we got back together, and for some reason it made Donald Trump go insane.”
“I know what you’re thinking, right? That’s so crazy, the President tweeted about you once. No, no, the President tweeted about me 11 times.”
Stewart added: “The President is not a huge fan of me, but that is so OK. And Donald, if you didn’t like me then, you’re really probably not going to like me now, because I’m hosting SNL and I’m, like, so gay dude!”
