‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Lee Pace says he has dated men and women

Hollywood actor Lee Pace has come out, saying he has dated both men and women.

The Hobbit star is currently preparing to star in the Angels in America Broadway revival, Pace gave an interview to W Magazine.

In it, he was asked about his sexuality and dating life, which is where he made the revelation.

But he said he thought questions about sexuality were “intrustive” and that he was surprised to be asked.

He told the magazine: “I’ve dated men. I’ve dated women.

“I don’t know why anyone would care. I’m an actor and I play roles. To be honest, I don’t know what to say—I find your question intrusive.”

In the Angels revival, he will play Joe Pitt, who is a closeted gay Mormon.

He has played a wide range of characters including gay and bisexual men before.

“Our understanding of what it means to be gay is just so different,” Pace said to W.

“It’s culturally different. It’s just so much further down the road. It’s an interesting thing for me to think about in this moment while working on this play.”

Back in 2017, Pace’s Guardians co-star WWE wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista had a very strong message for the homophobes out there.

Bautista said homophobes can “suck my balls”.

He had said he has “no tolerance for bigotry” in response to a racist slur being painted on the gate of LeBron James.

It was not the first time Bautista has hit out at anti-LGBT comments.

Bautista in 2016 hit out at fellow Filipino, boxer Manny Pacquiao, who made a string of anti-gay comments.

Eight-time world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao sparked criticism across the world earlier in 2016, after describing gay couples as “worse than animals”.

“It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same sex?” Pacquiao told local broadcaster TV5.

Bautista hit back, saying: “My opinion on that is that he’s a f***ing idiot. My mom happens to be a lesbian, so I don’t f***ing take that s**t. I don’t think it’s funny.

“If anyone called my mother an animal, I’d stick a foot in his ass. That’s his opinion, but I don’t appreciate it.”

The Guardians film franchis also faced controversy around sexual orientations as the film’s director backpedalled after hinting that a gay character is among the protagonists in the sequel.
