It took 18 years, but Lindsay Lohan has finally released her cover of Jingle Bell Rock

Lindsay Lohan is taking us back to 2004, releasing her long-awaited “Jingle Bell Rock” cover from her new Netflix film Falling For Christmas.

That’s right, the Lohan-aissance continues with the icon reviving the Bobby Helm turned Mean Girls classic.

Mean Girls’ iconic “Jingle Bell Rock” talent show performance will forever be carved into film history, with Lohan (Cadey), Rachel McAdams (Regina), Amanda Seyfried (Karen), Lacey Chabert (Gretchen) and Amy Poehler (Regina’s mum) inspiring generations of sexy Santas – Ariana Grande included.

Lohan’s new cover of the classic is the first song she has released since 2020 and comes as she launches a major comeback.

It’s taken from Falling For Christmas, the first of three films she is making for Netflix.

The festive title follows a spoilt heiress (Lohan) who loses their memory in a skiing accident and is discovered by the local lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his daughter.

As she gets to know herself anew, she finds herself falling in love in classic Christmas rom-com style.

Speaking about re-launching her career, Lindsay Lohan told Cosmopolitan she feels “really great and just really excited and happy.”

It was really comforting to me, when I got the script, to see a movie that was a rom-com because it’s always fun to work on something lighthearted and family-oriented that makes people happy and provides a bit of an escape,” she added.

People are, of course, buzzing to see Lohan’s return to the music industry with such a culturally epic song and have shared their excitement on social media.

The world has been waiting 18 years for this single to drop,” one person wrote, while another added: “Hope everyone is ready for Lindsay Lohan’s version of ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ to get a Grammy.”
Someone else correctly pointed out: “Lindsay Lohan going from saving Netflix with her Falling for Christmas movie to saving the music industry with her ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ cover.”

While others were warning Mariah Carey to watch out for her Christmas crown before Lindsay Lohan swoops into steal it.
