Justin Timberlake considering Elton John biopic role “very seriously”
Justin Timberlake is said to be taking the suggestion that he reprise his role as Elton John in the latter’s planned biopic “very seriously”.
A source told E!Online the singer turned actor was “working with his people to figure out exactly how to respond”.
Elton John, 64, told the LA Times earlier this month he would co-produce a “surreal look at my life, and not just a factual look at my life, more in the manner of a Moulin Rouge”, and that he ideally wanted Timberlake to play him.
He said: “I’ve got a wish list of people. Number one on my wishlist is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of Rocket Man and he was superb.”
Timberlake portrayed John in the 2002 video for This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore.
Timberlake said in July of last year that he was “stoked” New York had introduced marriage equality for gay couples, saying he was proud the state had “the balls to stand up for what’s right”.
According to unconfirmed reports from an Us Weekly source, Timberlake proposed to Jessica Biel before Christmas.
