Lil Nas X and Tony Hawk unite for the most ambitious crossover event in history

Lil Nas X and Tony Hawk have teamed up for a hilarious skateboarding tutorial after presumably bonding over their shared love of blood-infused creations.

The pair connected after the Lil Nas questioned why there was no backlash over Tony Hawk’s “blood” skateboards when the world reacted with fury to his blood-infused Satan shoes.

The sneakers attracted fierce condemnation from conservative Christian circles and were ultimately recalled following a Nike lawsuit; however Tony Hawk’s boards stoked no controversy and sold out almost immediately.

Lil Nas asked: “Now that Tony Hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? And maybe you were mad for some other reason?”

The “Montero” singer also weighed in on the comments section of Hawk’s Instagram post about his new blood skateboards, writing: “Nah he tweakin.”

Hawk, 53, addressed the comparison as he held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the board on Friday (27 August). “I understand his perspective, and I respect it,” he told KSL.

“Yeah, obviously there’s a disparity there, but I think the issue with him more was that there was a copyright infringement, from what I understand. But by no means was I trying to capitalise on his success or even copy him,” he added.

There seemed to be no bad blood between them on Monday as the pair met up for a TikTok video demonstrating Lil Nas X’s incredible completely unedited skating skills.

“Nah WE tweakin,” Lil Nas wrote alongside photos of their day out together, while Hawk tweeted out a TikTok post from the rapper, captioning it: “Nas he tweakin.”

Deadpan Twitter users played along with the joke, refusing to see the seamless transition between Lil Nas X and Tony Hawk. “Maybe Lil Nas X should try show that other guy how to skate,” suggested one.
