What is OTO’s Glow Treatment?
The new product features a number of key ingredients that are beneficial to your skin.
- CBD is Glow Treatment’s golden ingredient. The brand’s pure CBD, has antioxidant, anti-sebum, skin protecting and skin conditioning properties, and supports the healthy rejuvenation of your skin. It is naturally nourishing, and it leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft after use.
- Hyaluronic Acid: this intensely hydrating molecule holds up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, boosting skin’s moisture and locking it in. It instanrlt plumps and smooths dry skin, while reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
- Squalane Oil: this super lightweight, non-comedogenic oil acts as a barrier on the skin to lock in moisture and detoxify, leaving skin soft, plump and radiant for longer. This ingredient of Glow Treatment can also help protect skin from UV damage.
- Frankincense Essential Oil: this is renowned for its powerful anti-inflammatory and cell renewing properties, frankincense oil calms and reduces skin imperfections. It also stimulates healthy cell renewal and healing, evening skin tone.
What is CBD?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It is one of the main cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. CBD is similar to cannabinoids naturally produced in our own bodies. They help to promote homeostasis – or balance – in the body. They also help regulate physiological functions like pain, inflammation, sleep, mood, stress and anxiety.
OTO say: “Our own cannabinoid levels can deplete and as such our sleep may suffer or we may feel higher levels of anxiety or pain. By supplementing our natural cannabinoids with plant-based CBD, it can help restore the balance.”
CBD won’t get you high, those effects are down to a different component of the cannabis plant called Tetrahydrocannabinol, aka THC. Instead, it’s used in products like oils and drinks to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm.
It’s an increasingly popular skincare ingredient because of its versatile benefits. CBD is highly ‘sebostatic’ and reacts with receptors to help balance and control oil production on the skin, which leads to fewer impurities like pimples, spots and blackheads.
Who are OTO?
The award-winning brand was founded by husband-and-wife team, Gemma Colao and James Bagley, who wanted to “share the wonder of CBD with as many people as possible” through their products.
Gemma first discovered the power of CBD whilst working in the fast-paced fashion industry to manage her own anxiety and hormonal. They then teamed up with scientists and designers to create OTO and aim to redefine the UK’s CBD sector with their simple products that can fit into people’s daily lives.
