LGBT fans accused of ‘groping’ Miley Cyrus during gay club gig
A number of publications have hit out at the star and her fans over unseen footage of a 2014 performance.
Miley Cyrus has come under criticism following the release of a previously unseen 2014 performance.
A number of newspapers today lashed out at the pop star’s “lewd behaviour”, whilst criticising her “raucous” fans and drawing comparisons with Donald Trump.
During a clearly slow news day, The Sun – which regularly includes pictures of half-naked women on its infamous Page 3 – described how the pansexual singer “thrust” herself towards fans and allowed them to “touch her groin area”.
The paper – which was also criticised over it’s coverage of HIV earlier this year – added that an “unfazed” Cyrus lets her fans “reach for her breasts, before she struts off and performs the rest of her song.”
Meanwhile, the Mail Online – which hit out at both HIV-preventing drugs and LGBT traffic lights this summer – accused “overamorous” LGBT fans of “intimately groping” the Wrecking Ball singer during her appearance at G-A-Y two years ago.
“Clad in an alarmingly high-rise leotard adorned with mirrored detailing, the former Disney star left very little to the imagination – making the grabbing incident more shocking,” the paper wrote.
The video was uploader by a fan onto YouTube, although it is still uncertain how – or why – the newspapers decided to publish it almost three years later.
The singer and LGBT activist recently discussed struggling to come to terms with her pansexuality.
“My whole life, I didn’t understand my own gender and my own sexuality. I always hated the word ‘bisexual,’ because that’s even putting me in a box,” she told Variety.
“I don’t ever think about someone being a boy or someone being a girl,” Cyrus added.
Discussing her pansexuality for the first time last year, she said she is “open” to “everything that’s legal”.
