Cher reignites 30 year old feud with Madonna with epic shade

Cher threw some major shade at Madonna during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The gay icon was making an appearance to promote her new ABBA covers album Dancing Queen, which releases on September 28.
But during a quickfire questions round, she took some time to reignite a legendary, decades-old feud.

When asked to name three singers she would like to duet with, Cher responded: “Adele, Pink and… uhh… not Madonna!”
Ellen Degeneres quipped: “Well, alright Miss Negative! He said who you’d want to, not who you wouldn’t want to!”
Cher responded: “Did I cheat? I took a little creative license.”
The feud between the pair is a matter of gay history, and dates back at least 30 years.
In a notorious 1991 interview with Terry Wogan, Cher had jokingly referred to Madonna as her “best friend,” adding: “I think she’s unbelievably creative, because she’s not unbelievably talented, she’s not beautiful and she’s kind of rude! She’s creative but she’s rude.”

In a subsequent CBS interview, she elaborated: “There’s something about her that I don’t like. She’s mean, and I don’t like that.
“I had her over to my house once, and she was so rude to everybody. It seems to me that she’s got so much that she doesn’t have to act the way that she acts, like a spoiled brat all the time.
“It seems to me that when you’ve reached the kind of acclaim that she’s reached, and can do whatever you want to do, you should be a little more magnanimous and be a little less of a c**t.”
In a 2013 Reddit Q&A, Cher clarified: “I never hated her, I just thought she was a bitch. Actually I quite respect her.”

She added: “I don’t like everything she does, for sure, but she is always riding the crest of the wave.”
Madonna went for more a more guarded snipe in an interview: “Cher, I think she’s aged very gracefully.”
Of course, Cher is hardly the first star to take issue with Madonna.
The Material Girl has had infamous feuds with everyone from Lady Gaga to Elton John to Mariah Carey.
In 2012, after Madonna took a potshot at Gaga, Sir Elton responded: “Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c**t.
“If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.
“But no, she had to go and prove… she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper. She’s been horrible to Gaga.”
