Troye Sivan has reportedly split from his boyfriend, model Jacob Bixenman.

The 25-year-old singer is said to have called it quits with his partner of four years, sources told the Daily Telegraph.

Their relationship reportedly came to a quiet end after Troye jetted back home to Perth, Australia, to stay with family while model Bixenman remained in his Los Angeles, US, residence amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Sivan went public with his relationship in August 2016, but have vastly been absent from one another’s Instagram posts for months.

Speculation about the singer’s relationship status started swirling in January 2019, when he described collaborator Lauv as “my boyfriend”.

He posted a photograph of the pair linking arms to promote their single “I’m So Tired”.

“We cute,” Lauv commented on the post, uploaded to Instagram.

Did Troye Sivan address break-up on new song?

However Sivan dispelled rumours that he and Bixenman had broken up in February 2019 with a heartfelt Twitter post celebrating their three-year anniversary.

“Luckiest boy alive,” Sivan said, “love you lots, Jacob Bixenman.”

This year, their anniversary was marked by silence.

Sivan’s recent tracks have also had a twang of break-up angst. With his new EP, In a Dream, set to drop August 21, Sivan said the six-song effort will explore an emotionally potent part of his life.

“A story that’s still unfolding, this small collection of songs explores an emotional rollercoaster period in my life when the feelings and thoughts were most shockingly fresh,” Sivan said.

“Revisiting these songs and moments is tough, but I’m proud of this music and excited to have it out in the world.”

One of the songs, “Easy”, is tinged by heartbreak, with wrenching lyrics such as: “He made it easy, please, don’t leave me.

“Now I’m so vulnerable, so sad and alone.”
